Overview | salicylanilide, also known as formulation 339, is a white or slightly brown plate-like crystal that becomes darker in light. Melting point 135 °c. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, benzene, chloroform, ether, acetone, etc. Its sodium salt is readily soluble in water. The preparation contains 28-32% (based on aniline) of salt, anhydrous sodium sulfate and sulfite pulp waste liquid. When used, it needs to be processed into a sodium salt solution of salicylanilide. It can be prepared by condensation of sodium salicylate and aniline with chlorobenzene as solvent in the presence of phosphorus trichloride. |
Application | salicylanilide is used to control fruit and vegetable diseases in agriculture, such as tomato brown spot disease. It is used medically as a surgical antiseptic. Industrial use of cotton, wool, plastics, chemical fibers, rubber products, fungicides and preservatives. |
preparation | the method for the preparation of salicylanilide by catalyzing the carbonylation of halogenated aromatic hydrocarbons, amines and carbon monoxide comprises the following steps:(1) dehydrating deoxygenation of catalyst and reaction substrate the noble metal salts, triphenylphosphine Compounds, Inorganic bases, DMSO, organic amines, Quinones and halogenated aromatic hydrocarbons required for the experiment were transferred into the glove box for 24 hours, then the contents of 1-100 ↑, 3-300↑, 10-100↑, 0.5-50ml, 0.5-50ml, 10-50↑, 0.015-1.5ml mixed evenly into the quartz glass reactor, sealed standby. (2) treatment of reaction atmosphere the reactor in step (1) is subjected to ultrasound for 15-30min, high-purity carbon monoxide is flushed into the bulb for standby, and the atmosphere in the reactor is replaced with carbon monoxide gas by a mechanical pump after the ultrasound is completed. (3) the above-treated reactor is placed on a stirrer and stirred for 4-30 hours. When the reaction is completed, the mixture is taken out from the ventilated kitchen and centrifuged, the supernatant was taken as a mixed solution containing the target product salicylanilide, and the samples to be tested were qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed by GC-MS and GC. |
Use | This product is a fungicide, which is mainly used for cotton fabrics, or poly vinyl chloride and other plastics, rubber, coatings, adhesives, leather and other materials of anti-mildew agent. Pharmaceutical grade products are used for the treatment of dermatophytosis and the preservation of medicinal products. Salicylanilide was added to 50% acetic acid and reacted Dropwise with bromine at 55 ° C. For 1H to obtain 3,4 ', 5-tribromosalicylanilide. This is an antiseptic for soap and cosmetics. Salicylanilide is also used as an intermediate in other fine chemicals. |
production method | salicylic acid and aniline with toluene or carbon tetrachloride as solvent, trichlorophosphorus (salicylic acid: Aniline: trichlorophosphorus = 3:3:1, molar ratio) was added gradually below 25 °c. After completion of the addition, the reaction was heated and boiled until hydrogen chloride gas no longer evolved. Salicylanilide was isolated from the reaction mixture. Salicylanilide can also be obtained by reacting methyl salicylate, phenyl salicylate and freshly distilled aniline. |
